Founded in 1966 by Dr. Harvey Barnett, Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) is now the global leader in the industry it pioneered: survival swimming lessons for infants and young children. The ISR Self-Rescue® instruction our students receive today is the product of over 50 years of research and achieves unparalleled results.
Today, our mission, “Not One More Child Drowns,” is the foundation of everything we do and is the driving force behind ISR.
WHAT IS SELF-RESCUE?
ISR goes beyond traditional swim instruction and teaches children how to survive in the water. Children are curious, capable, and have an uncanny ability to overcome obstacles like pool fences. We teach them skills to potentially save themselves if they find the water alone. Depending on your child’s age, your child will learn different levels of self-rescue skills, including a roll-back-to-float and/or a swim-float-swim.
